Do you wish your smile were brighter, more youthful, flashier? Do you dislike the shape or color of your teeth? Are you not sure what cosmetic dentistry procedure will work best for you–or if you need more than one? A smile makeover is a custom designed approach to achieving your cosmetic goals. We will combine procedures as necessary to give you the smile of your dreams–or restore the smile of your youth.
Your Smile Makeover Process
A smile makeover begins with a consultation where we talk to you about your goals. Tell us what you want your smile to look like and if you have any additional functional or health goals, such as: addressing toothaches, getting teeth to fit together more comfortably, speaking more clearly, or others. We’ll ask if you have any restrictions or limit such as budget or time frame.
We’ll perform a detailed exam of your smile. Then we’ll come up with one or more treatment plans to achieve your goals within your limits. Once you accept the treatment plan, we’ll start work.
How to Tell Us What Smile You Want
People often find it hard to communicate exactly what they’re looking for in their smile. A good technique is to bring us a picture. Ideally, you should have an image of yourself at a time you were happy with the appearance of your smile. You can also bring us in a picture of a celebrity whose smile you admire. However, you have to remember that their face is likely different from yours–their exact smile won’t look right on you.
If you don’t have any pictures that capture what you’re going for, we have look books you can use, similar to picking a hairstyle. This can take a little longer, because there are many options..
Time, Money, and Results: the Triangle of Compromise
If you have to impose limits on your smile makeover, you might have to make some compromises. Think of it this way: if you have all the time and money in the world, you can get the best possible results. However, if you have to get results faster, you might need a more expensive treatment, or accept that results might not be all you hoped for.
The same goes for money. we can usually offer less expensive treatment, but it might be slower (sometimes we have to use phased treatment, doing your procedure a little bit at a time, so it fits your budget) or not as attractive.
